TIMELINE
1. Bibliography due on April 27th
(including sources for music+music clips etc.)
2. Planning complete on April 30th
3. Research/investigation complete on May 2nd
I have to find various songs that I'd like to use bits and pieces of in my house music piece, and i should have most of them before i actually start creating my piece of house music.
4. Combination of Basslines for the piece complete on May 5th
5. Adding/altering vocals and bits and pieces from other songs in due on May 18th
House music is a function of computer technology. Using a vox sound to alter a vocal, or any affect to make it sound futuristic, is a key element to a house song. Often the altered vocal is juxtaposed with the traditional vocal to add a creative flair to the sound.
6. Learn how to mix music and make it blend due on May 23rd
DJs are the gatekeepers to the house sound. Mixing music is crucial to creating popular house mix tapes. Some DJs prefer to use traditional turntables to mix vinyl albums, while others may use music mixing software on a computer. Regardless of how songs are mixed, learning how to mesh one sound into another is paramount.
7. Session complete on June 1st
8. Evaluation complete on June 8th
This plan was not really useful for actually creating the house music piece, because i changed some of the steps. Also, i was busy a lot of the time and therefore had huge gaps in between the sessions where i actually worked on my piece, so i didnt meet all of my deadlines. For example, i never had to alter vocals, because i used songs that had alreadty altered vocals in them, to save time. Also, i didnt have to learn how to blend the songs, because the songs i chose happened to blend perfectly, so i didnt have to do anything.
